October is here, and once again we are celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM). Reflecting a commitment to a robust and competitive American labor force, the 2019 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” Observed each October, NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.T

October 21, 2019: “The Importance of Family…” – Brian
Today’s story focuses on the importance of work in supporting family life. For Brian, a father whose son is his pride and joy, this means the ability to provide for his family. While he and his son’s mother are not together, they co-parent very well. Brian is supportive in every way, including financially.
Brian works two part-time jobs, one at Lucky Strike, and the other at Walgreens. Working fills Brian with sense of responsibility not only to his son but to the community at large. He is also working towards having his own place one day.
