2019 NDEAM Kick-Off!

October is here, and once again we are celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM). Reflecting a commitment to a robust and competitive American labor force, the 2019 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” Observed each October, NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.

Please help us in highlighting the accomplishments of all people with disabilities who are employed or have their own business by submitting success stories.  We had a great response last year, and are now in search of more great stories as well as updates!

My Job Balances Out My Life…
October 1, 2019 – Thomasina Justice

Kicking off this year’s NDEAM success stories, we checked back in with one of last year’s featured employees – Thomasina Justice. Thomasina provided this update.

Hi, my name is Thomasina. I work at The Graham Company and have been there for about a year and a half. They appreciate me there. I go around and say hi to everybody. I am an Office Assistant. I scan and make copies. I make booklets for our new hires for when they come into orientation. I help keep the office tidy, especially when it comes to the coffee pots and the microwaves – on all six floors. I also help Kevin and Anthony with the mail room when needed. I like working there. I’m so appreciative. Going back to work and finding a job with The Graham Company after my brain tumor relaxed my mind. I wasn’t thinking about what I just went through but was thinking about the future. When I’m at work, I’m happy. I don’t think about what’s going on at home. It clears my mind. 

Outside of work, my boys keep me going and I love going to church, as well as Bible Study. My job at The Graham Company balances out my life.
