October is here, and once again we are celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM). Reflecting a commitment to a robust and competitive American labor force, the 2019 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” Observed each October, NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.T

Meet Jason Oney…
Along Jason Oney’s employment journey, he discovered that he is an entrepreneur at heart and loves to work for himself. When Jason first opened his business, he was creating home good items such as throw pillows and potholders. His supporters noticed his love for his dog Oney. With the encouragement of his network, Jason’s business pivoted to embrace his love for sewing and his dog Oney to develop a pet accessory business inspired by pattern, color, and the things he loves most!

Jason initially started his business in 2015 and it was in 2018 he made the move to be focused on pet accessories. Each object is carefully considered and constructed by hand in One and Oney’s Philadelphia studios. In the summer months, Jason actively works on production so that he is well prepared for the festival and holiday seasons. Jason seeks out fabric that is unique just as the pets who wear the accessories. Jason is continually looking to build upon his designs and is currently working on a few prototypes to gain input from customers, including a pet travel bag to help ensure you and your pet can enjoy more adventures together.
