America’s Workforce – Empowering All

Reflecting a commitment to a robust and competitive American labor force, the 2018 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) theme is “America’s Workforce – Empowering All!” Observed each October, NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents.

The Philadelphia “Employment 1st, Employment NOW!” Steering Committee is once again celebrating this event with a month of employment success stories. Each day we will be posting another success story about someone who is contributing to their community through employment. For those who have requested to receive our employment announcements, you will receive the link to the story in your mailbox. Getting the Job Done!

October 26 – Anthony (Tony)

Anthony (Tony) works with the Henry Ave branch of ACME markets as Bagger. He bags groceries, retrieves the shopping carts and assists in other areas as needed. Tony has worked at his job for more than ten years. He is known for getting his job done and his promptness. Tony gets to and from work on his own, and never comes late or misses a day, unless he is ill. He is always pleasant and polite to the customers.

Tony is a team player and works well with his coworkers and supervisors. His supervisor speaks highly of him and says Tony does his job and does well. He is a welcome part of the team.
